Zeotap taps Rackspace Technology to optimize network infrastructure and implement DevOps

How we helped
Zeotap was looking for a mature global MSP that could both fill its support gaps today and position its business grow into the future.
Rackspace Technology caught the attention of Zeotap as it was the premier Google Cloud Managed Services Provider. In addition, Zeotap knew it needed a service provider with extensive experience in big data transformation. Zeotap also valued the flexible consumption pricing model offered by Rackspace Technology, which was a significant market differentiator.
Years of rapid growth and expansion had left Zeotap with little time to properly document and streamline its IT architecture. One of the first things Rackspace Technology did was perform a detailed network architecture analysis and provide suggestions for improvement. At the same time, the Rackspace team looked to boost productivity and accelerate development processes through the implementation of DevOps practices.
“The big investment in the first 90 days was to operationally streamline a lot of the internal processes, make sure that they had good documentation in place, make sure that there was good data hygiene and good maturity in how they were addressing compliance,” recalled Kapil Sharma, General Manager for India and the SAARC at Rackspace Technology. “We did a lot of that work so they could run the business in a more predictable and consistent fashion.”
Once the underlying systems were optimized, Rackspace Technology leveraged its automation expertise to help Zeotap shift its focus from operations to developing and improving its product offerings. Now Zeotap was able to better take advantage of some of Google’s most data-centric offerings, often to an unbelievable degree.
"With BigQuery, we are able to operate more efficiently, removing 80% of the operation load that we would otherwise have to manage on a different cloud provider,” explained Sathish K S, VP of Engineering at Zeotap. “As a result, we get to build and deliver products faster."

What we achieved together
Rackspace Technology was able to leverage its big data and automation experience to transform Zeotap’s DevOps architecture and documentation, which, in turn, allowed it to streamline operations and ease future onboarding.
According to Aditya Chandra, Vice President of Infrastructure at Zeotap, this project was viewed from the outset as a long-term, sustainable partnership. Chandra knew that Rackspace Technology would meet and exceed his expectations to examine Zeotap’s challenges and assemble a robust solution that could deliver results quickly and over the long haul.

With its improved infrastructure, Zeotap was able to focus on developing and improving product offerings, instead of spending time and energy on operations. Zeotap has been able to increase the speed of its product delivery by 40% and remove 80% of its operations load that it would otherwise have to manage on a different cloud provider.
